Dryer Not Heating? Causes and Fixes
A dryer that tumbles but stays cold usually has a power or fuel problem, a blown thermal fuse, or a failed heating part. Electric dryers need both halves of a 240-volt circuit to heat. Gas dryers depend on an igniter and gas valve coils. A clogged vent can cause the parts to overheat and fail.
Safety first: unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before touching anything inside, and shut off the water or gas supply where it applies. If you smell gas, leave the house and call your gas utility from outside.
